Add sales tax to a price, or back it out of a total.
How it’s calculated
Gross = net × (1 + rate). Net = gross ÷ (1 + rate). Don’t just subtract the rate from the gross figure: removing 20% from a VAT-inclusive price gives the wrong answer.
